you drive a s2000, not a civic or a mustang. Get used to spending money to mod. It's no longer $100 inerval type of moding its $1000 inervals. Seriously! It seems everything I have done is over $1000 each part.
Its expensive to mod an s2000 nicely. I've spent at least $6000 on mine including the new Mugen style hardtop, and it doesnt seem like I have done to much to it. I'm very satisfied with what I have done with the money, and I am very young and still have a lot of time to do things to my S.

If you have the money go ahead and spend it on parts, but if your working with little cash just buy some used parts and save up for other things. I'm going to buy coilovers next, which i'll prolly buy brand new. I don't have an extra 1000 bucks laying around in my s2000 fund that i'd like to drop into buying coilovers. I'm saving up for a hardtop and s/c kit first.
If your also tight on money try the ebay parts thread. They do have nice parts on ebay that aren't name brand that are almost as good as name brand parts at like fourth of the price of brand name stuff. They give reviews and post pictures and videos also. Check the search feature out for parts that you're looking for and your most likely going to find something that you need in your price range.

you also don't have to go baller status and buy j's racing stuff... the amount of stuff he did to his car shouldn't even have cost 5g to do if he just shopped around and hes probably made that price up for new prices which he definitely didn't pay. imho some used parts are just as good as new parts. exhaust, intake (depends on the intake), strut bars, wheels (condition) and you save almost half of what you would buy them for new. I bought my t1r exhaust for 350 shipped with out the test pipe that i had before but i'm getting another t1r, but will probably spend around 600 max to get a used one.
