Just scour the for sale section and group buys.

The S2000 is no where near a cheap vehicle to put any old cheap part on.
The price to purchase these cars may have gone down, but the reality is, it is not a cheap car.

300-350 for an intake isn't a justifiable purchase if your in it for gains. Just like a dual exhaust isn't for our cars either. These things are mainly tonal unless you plan on investing more into an N/A build or FI and tune.

I purchased a Fujita CAI, just because I hated heat bog in the summer. It was justifiable to me for the expense (bought it off a member for 170 shipped) and it is doing exactly what i want it to do as well.

If you are looking for gains, you should really get some sort of engine management to maximize the intake gains. If you want it for sound, that is up to you to decide how much intake noise is worth to you.

On the king motorsports website, a S2000 with the mugen intake and flashpro made really nice gains all throughout the powerband.

You should see what a cai does coupled with an ems.

Buying used is NOT always the same as new.. Are you seriouse? I bought an HKS hi-power duel and the resonator rattled, that is NOT like new. Also if you shop for used wheels, cross your fingers there are no bends or cracks. An intake is one thing but it can still be pretty visually banged up. Like the guys said, he had to rebuild his coilovers after buying used. Keep those things in mind.

how are you guys saying intakes dont do anything? i dont get it. a aem v2 will gain power. when i had my k an n fipk intaked with a catback exhaust. i put down my peak tq at 6388 rpm instead of 7500 as per factory says. the intake did change the peak tq. also k an n's dyno sheet they give you says 9.55 whp and im not saying its true but it def does work. and 200 for 5-10whp is worth 200 dollars. i put down the numbers in the sig with a short ram and 70mm exhaust...and i have the dyno sheet to prove it.

define what's "worth it" to you. if it's performance and sound a $200 intake would be almost the same as a $350 dollar one. if you want extra extra extra bling points you can always go JDM.

I see a lot of people recommending snorkels, which are fine if you don't drive in the rain, but depending on where you live snorkels can destroy your engine. If you get a lot of rain then pick up the FIPK or Comptech. I have the comptech, and I can't say if there is any gain, but the sound is incredible. My Comptech made so much noise I ended up putting dynamat inside the lid to tone it down a little. Plus it ways a lot less than the stock box.

No way would a snorkel intake be more harmful in any condition. Its all about filter location, if the filter is located closer to the bottom a near a water source like AEM, INJEN, FUJITA ETC...yes it can destroy your engine under some instances. An snorkel is just there to direct air into the filter...it won't suck up or draw water into the intake filter.
