When I installed my spugen heatshield, I had to move the wire harness for the vtec solenoid closer to the exhaust manifold (I assume anyone with heat shields had to do this). however, I'm concerned that the wire harness will have trouble handling the extra heat directly from the manifold since its now almost right above it compared to it was on the front of the engine block before. Here are some before and after pics from an online DIY.

I have a spoon engine torque damper and couldn't move it to this spot. So I ended up trimming the bracket a little and left it in place. It's a tight fit but I was able to install my Ztec heatshield with it like this. They don't touch...

 

That may be a better option, I'm going to consider that. Anyone else installed the heat shield and moved the wire harness?

 

i bent the bracket so it was out of the way and i could install the heatshield fine.

 

I moved my bracket like that when installing the ZTECH heat shield...3 years later and no problems.
