Default Throttle body bypass?

So i have seen i na few places of people syaing you should get a throttle body bypass for the coolant that passes through if you live in hot areas. and i live in a hot are so that would work. ive read from one place that you can make about 4-8 hp... ive seen a dyno of a camaro making 3.5 off of the coolant bypass. is it something i should do or should i not even bother with it?

Yes it's ok to do in warm areas. Prolly not gonna get any power increase.

Do a search. Plenty of threads on how to do it and people's takes on it. You're looking for "throttle body coolant bypass"

There are a few ways to do it as well, You can bypass only the throttle body or you can bypass that along with the intake mani.

Search and youll find what you want to do best.

Some people also CAP it off directly at the head as they dont allow for any collant to flow from the head, not sure if this works on the s2k. I know it worked on all my b series motors and worked great?

See pic for ex of capped at he head.

(not my car)

so is it kindof a useless thing for me to do? or should i try it and see what happens? i know there wont be any noticeable gains, but even something small like a 1hp gain when warm would be fine

There are gains to be had 100%.

Im just curious for someone to chime in if its alright to cap it right at the head like the pic above, this way it doesnt flow threw t/b, doesnt flow threw the inatake mani and then doesnt go wherever it goes to after that lol.

so there actually will be a slight hp gain and temp lowering? because a tube only cost like $5 and that would be the most simple and cheap mod done.

no longterm damage or anything though right? i live in a place that has a warm climate, and whenever there is a cold front i can simply rerun the coolant back through the TB.

yes sir, all the collant is really doing is keeping the throttle body warm to help prevent the flap from sticking. Ive run it closed threw a horrible cdn winter on my last ctr beater and i never had a issues, this was with many -30 days here. Maybe i was lucky but i also took good care of my engine and checked it all the time.

You can simple re route your collent for when it gets cold if your at all worried.

good luck man.
