Default titanium knob question.

just retorched my OEM Ti knob, and wanted to know if there was a way to keep the colors from fading. they faded off last time, and wanted to keep the nice blue/purple color vibrant. any ideas would be helpful.

i got no advice to help you keep it that way, but clear coating it does sound like a good idea.

im just curious how you did this. is it the shift knob that comes stock on the S, or another one made by honda? kinda stupid question when you said it was the OEM knob, but i dont wanna got out and torch mine and ruin it.

second, what kind of torch did you use? ive got access to mapp gas. would this be enough heat to get that affect?

any tips youve got for doing this would be great!

its not the OEM aluminum knob, but the Ti knob. its OEM honda, but its i guess an accessory?? heres a link to the one i used.

i basically just took a mapp gas torch and torched it for about 6 minutes. youll start to see it turn goldish and then light purple. once this happens, just keep moving the torch around. youll start to notice that if you remove the flame, the color will get darker. so just torch til you get the right color you want. wanted to do mine all blue, but went with the light blue to gold fade effect. looks sweet. feel free to ask any more questions.

i used bernzomatic mapp gas with a bernzomatic igniter. you can get it at at home depot or probably lowes. if you buy the kit, it comes with propane and an igniter. just buy a mapp gas canister as well.
