its like a torch a plumber would use for soldering pipe.

thanks for the advice. i defiently want to try this. the knob you linked to on the other page looks like mine, but im not sure its ti. do you know if they made a stainless version of it?
they made a aluminum knob that looks just like it. the difference in the two is the weight, and the color. for some reason the Ti one was kinda this light bronze color. if yours looks like machined silver metal, then its probably the aluminum one. hope that helps.

wasnt there a thread on burning your own knobs a while back and nobody seemed to be able to get it done with good results??????? then someone posted a pic of an oem ti knob just like yours with the color and all but it was like 200 plus from honda and very very hard to find???? yours looks great. did u just burn it from the top and work your way down applying less heat to get the "fade"????? i bought an arc knob and it faded as well so now i wanna try it to my ti knob since im not a fan of the round knob

when i applied the heat, i moved it around in a circular motion at the top of the knob. once that got to my desired color, i did the sides. the gold comes first, then a reddish-purple, then you the dark blue and a light blue. i just kept adding and removing heat til i decided on the color i wanted. if you dont like the color, just buff it off and retry.

its not a bad idea. first i would need to find a hook up on OEM Ti knobs. not trying to spend $150 a knob. who wants to calulate the end product price after torching and shipping at $150 a knob??
