Default torque

Will a NOS shot increase torque? I know there are many number junkies out there. torque makes you go, HP is something to brag about. My diesel (truck) makes 288 hp and 750 fbs torque. If my F20 makes 240 HP. How do I make the torque match???

You cannot compare the two motors when talking about the motors power and twisting forces.
Your truck wont rev to 9,000 rpm, probably around 4? or so, correct me if im wrong there.
A diesel motor will have pistons that will be almost twice the size of your s2k's pistons as well as the pistons travel will be significantly different. In a diesel motor the combustion chamber is designed different, being that it does not have controlled burn of the fuel when the cylinder fires. The fuel in a diesel simply combusts itself with pressure and heat.
As far as your NOS question, im sure you will get more power and torque from it, you will not get 700 + torque.
Good luck, and be careful.

If you like torque, you can always swap you truck motor in your S.

J/K

NOS = Power

Want more torque = FI

NO2 increases cylinder pressure, yielding more torque. More torque at X revs yields more HP at X revs, since tq and HP are proportional.

However, if you figure out a way to increase HP without changing tq, pm me. This could be big...

Ok, first, horsepower makes you accelerate, not torque. It takes a while to explain, but if you care, search it. If what you mean to say is that you can feel TQ and you like it because of the low-end grunt, sure, fine. But power is what makes your car move.

Second, yes a NOS shot will increase torque, but it will also increase horsepower, so it will make you go faster.

Finally, if you really like TQ, the S2000 is a bad car for you. You will be happier with either a turbocharged car or a large V8, as both have a lot more torque and a lot more low-end grunt. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if you really feel that way, you probably should consider selling the S2000 to buy a different car, as you'll be more satisfied with your car.

You're definitely not. If you have a torque fetish then the S is totally the wrong car.

The deffinition of power is torque * RPM.

P(Hp) = Torque(ft*lbf) * RPM / 5252(convesrsion constant)

So, i dont know if this answers your question, but torque and hp are directly linked through the RPM at which they are made.

if you increase torque at a specific RPM, your hp increases accordingly.

The way that our cars develop 240hp, is by getting their small torque numbers to turn so darn fast.

Hope that helps
