Default Tow hook/strap with Amuse R1 bumper

I recently ordered front and rear tow hooks from GT Motoring. While waiting for the order I stumbled upon the Speedhunters/Takata tow strap and wondered if that would be a better solution for the front. It appeals to me because I could tuck it away when not in use, versus having a tow hook protruding all the time.

Has anyone used a tow strap? How/where would I secure it? (I assume to the bumper beam - same place as the tow hook.)

I have a RSG tow hook and you barely notice it sticking out from the bumper. The Amuse bumper is pretty long so it covers up the length of the tow hook pretty well.

Not sure I have that many great pics that show it very well but here's an example.

Good timing. I just installed my strap. It's a RaceQuip unit

this is what he is working with.
I dont think its long enough to wrap around the bumper beam, somehow it needs to be secured, thinking it needs a hole drilled into the bumper beam though

Good news, the front bumper beam already has holes.

well, that solves that.
Is the proper way to mount that style tow strap to go over the top toward the car and then under it so when and if its used the force is distributed around the bumper rather than just on the secured area????

In theory you mount it directly to the chassis (or a support member) and pull it straight out without wrapping around anything. Premise of-course that everything can support the load including the mounting hardware.

Imagine the strap riding up if the tow vehicle is higher and it pulling and bending or cracking the bumper. I don't like the strap at all unless it can pivot at a certain place

Agreed. I haven't put the bumper on yet, but will be playing with the strap position and adjusting so that it won't rotate and essentially pull the bumper cover off the vehicle.
