Default Trunk Options

I currently have a spoiler on my factory trunk and I dont think I like it anymore. I have thought of a few options and I would like some opinions.

What is the factory trunk made of?
Would you repair the holes and repaint?
Purchase the Mastergrade MG1
Purchase the Mastergrade MG2
Who has the best fitting carbon trunk?
Would you paint the carbon trunk or leave a small amount exposed?

i'd never paint any part of a carbon trunk. carbon hood, yes.

factory trunk is aluminum.

purchase Mastergrade MG2!!!!!

best fitting carbon trunk might be the baller ones (ASM, J's) but i've never actually seen any pics to verify that. Mastergrade is rumored to have awesome quality control these days, so i'd expect their fitment to be good. Seibon is pretty good fitment from what i've seen. i've also seen pics of nice fitting eBay trunks. i bought the Asuka trunk from gotuning unlimited and while the fitment isn't horrible, it's not perfect either. i wish i had waited and got the Mastergrade one.

don't repair the holes and repaint. just sell the trunk with the spoiler on it. it's easier for everyone involved in the transaction.

I have a Seibon and the fit is as good as OEM. It's kinda hard to tell in this photo but I found it fits great.

What spoiler on the trunk? Could the holes be covered with a different type?

it is ok. I do not like the oem trunk to begin with, over time if you live in colder region the snow and ice will cause some crack and rust around the edges. With carbon fiber, it will outlast you car.
