Default Valve train work

Hey, I'm thinking about doing some valve train work. I've been told many things such as not to do it or to just go for it. I know it yields many advantages from what I've been told. I just wanted to know if there is anyone out there who has done this before. Are there any noticeable gains? I'm also looking into going to forced-induction in the near future. Will that give me more gains compared to FI with a stock valve train? I was thinking into getting bigger valves, dual valve springs, new cams, and a stroker kit. Will all of this be worth for whatever gains I will get?
