Default vented hood and cold air chamber

I had a quick question, im interested in putting a aftermarket hood and intake system. the hood i was looking at was a ASM FRP vented hood, and the intake system would be a password JDM carbon ram induction. my questions are will the hood need to be cut in order to make the intake fit? also will there be any rubbing with the system once the hood is closed? a question in itself i live where it rains a lot if there chance of hydro locking with this cold air chamber? any information will be greatly appericated.

thanks

Looks like it could be a tight squeeze! I have personally never seen this combo, but I would expect that it would work. As far as hydro locking goes, I would think the power chamber is one of, if not the, least prone to this of any after market CAI seeing as to its complex and long design..

Has anyone run this setup and know about fitment??

password JDMs intake system fits without cutting the hood. the ASM hood does feature a bulge around the intake area (lower left side) for this style of intake (asm, J's racing, Mugen, etc).

no cutting required for ASM hood or any other hood to fit the PWJDM intake...

Tantheman and GPWS2K both have ASM hoods and are running our intake systems... in fact, we tested fitted the intake on a car with the ASM hood when we were prototyping the intake for clearance issues.

let me know if you need to purchase the intake.

thanks for the move, also great feedback everyone. yeah that totally answered my questions. since in hawaii we have lots of rain i was nervous for hydro locking but it seems its safe, also yeah the combo of the looks and function of the ASM hood fits my style, also the JDM cold air chamber has one of the best power result and also looks AWESOME! LOL but thanks to everyone for the help, i will be purchasing both items soon and will give picks once installed, thanks again to all!
