Vented hood concerns

1. Aluminum Mesh, Fly Screen (Soft Aluminum in your case), Screening Spline, Spray Paint, Duct Tape, Scissors, Sheet Cutters




2. Trace out the vent and cut it leaving about 3/4 inch margin. Paint it.




3. Cut you fly screen/aluminum to size, and tape the edges together with duct tape.






4. Slide it in between the hood.






5. Seal it with the screening spline.

4 years with vented hood... not one problem because of it. If I get caught on heavy rain (which has never happen) I will "slide in" a clear plastic to cover the first hole.

K&N FIPK falls directly in between the 2 biggest vents. The set up below is your best bet. It's HALF a circle, so it gets plenty of air.

I know a couple of people that ran their cars for a few years WITHOUT any cover and was fine. I don't recommend it but just saying...
