kind of agree with u on that bro..

i talked to j's i planed on getting 4.77s but they said with the ap2 gear ratio's 4.77s are high.. good for ap1 only.

then my tuner said he can pick me up another 10 hp with the aem ems instead of the vafc. but i hear u, its expensive!

plus i plan to add a 75shot wet, by summer.

i say avoid FI because it is nothing but headache 95% of the time.

i say 4.77 instead of 4.44 (take the time to drive a car with 4.77 and you will agree with me on this) and lose the EMS + tune...maybe get an emanage or vafc instead cause EMS is kinda superfluous imo unless you have FI
Nah... turbo is a headache and 4.77's suck if your Turbo or SC, a complete working used Comptech kit is reliable as hell and will give you the most performance and fun for the money period. They are also the most common SC kits and likely have the best support from local members in your area if you do need any assistance, that was the biggest reason why I made the move to this.

u guys think its worth it to get a aem ems or just a vafc2

vafc2 is so much cheaper

but my tuner swears the ems will pick up hp across the board.

let me know.. i can get the ems for 1350shipped .. been trying to steal one used but no one sellin.

Unless you plan to go FI in the near future the added few hp the tuner may be able to get you over the vafc if he is good definitely does not justify the cost. I think most experienced s2000 tuners would agree with me on this. Sure the tuner wants to make $500+ on tuning that ems for you, would I trust his recommendation on what makes sense to do for you? hell no! that would mean he loses a $500 customer. Think about it, you will spend about $2000 with tuning to have a likely 10hp across the board with the EMS, or spend $500 total with the vafc/tune and get 5-10hp across the board. If you invested in a wide band afr gauge you could learn to street tune the vafc yourself, its a super easy interface to learn and adjust. I did the whole N/A bolt on vafc tuning thing and it was fun for a couple years, but I will tell you first hand nothing compares to a good SC set up and at the cost you can pick one up used these days it hardly justifies the amount you will spend to have a realistically slow bolt on n/a S2000 when its all said and done.

with a vafc i picked up up to 10+ hp across the board. I guess it depends on how good your tuner is.

Yeah I would definitely not go with the EMS. Might gain a few more HP but you probably won't even feel the difference. I picked up a vafc1 with plug and play harness for like $125 shipped and gained 10ehp peak and all throughout the powerband. Saves lots and lots of money going that way unless you want to go FI like everyone else said. Not worth it.

Keep a close eye on the FS forum. I know there were a couple for salre there recently, but seemed like they were way overpriced. Like $350 or so including the harness but still. Seen them go for around 200-250 used with harness.

Get the EMS. It makes N2O much easier to work with.

I don't know why so many people push Comptech superchargers when they are so limited.
