Default What to put inside the cup holder?

I never use the cup holder, other than to hold a lighter and a can of dip. I was thinking of doing something useful with that spot.

I have my amp potentiometer taped under my steering wheel for my amp. Maybe I can design and create a panel for the potentiometer with an AC meter display for my sub, and maybe have an on off switch for my dash cam in there too? Just an idea.

What would you guys do with that spot?

I already have lock/unlock, garage control, and trunk release controlled by my audio controls next to the push start so I need more ideas for the cup holder.

By the way, I have an AP1 cup holder.

I put my keys in there.
I have a keychain hook and I remove just my car key so that's the only thing hanging from the ignition. the rest of them are thrown in the cup holder and it's closed.

If you're looking for interesting things to do, it's pretty easy to hijack the cruise control switches for other purposes. They both put out +12v when pressed and they work with the ignition on or off. The only difficulty is they get power through the horn relay, so you can't pull much current from them or else the horn will honk. If you use a low-current relay with a 1000-ohm coil you can operate it directly from the cruise controls, but if you need to use a heavier-duty relay you'll have to use a transistor to trigger it.

Note that later models that have 3 cruise buttons still only have 2 switches - the center switch just activates both at once.

I leave it empty at all times unless I have a small piece of paper I need to keep or something. I don't want anything in there causing noises and scratches.

I keep my inhalation aerosol for my emphysema and my nitroglycerine for chest pain in there. That's what you do when you are a track-junkie in your mid-70's.
