Default What's next for the s2000?

Hello,

I have a 01 GPW s that I absolutely love it. I have owned it for 4 years now and put about 55k on it. But I am getting to the point where I want to do more to it, but not really sure what to do. So far I have
Comptech intake and headers
Test pipe
Staggered RPF1s
Oem hard top
Extended floor mats
Leather console cover
Upgraded front and installed rear speakers

So I am not looking to dump tons of money into it. I am really looking for some stuff that is under a grand that you have done and love it.

Any advice would be great!

Thanks in advance

I have g force tires on there right now. Everything that I heard about lowering it is that it will hurt the cars handling unless I plan on spending over 1500 on some top notch suspension

I agree, caerful with spending <1000 on anything suspension wise.

Maybe get a used racing seat?

A nice suspension upgrade for good value is the CR suspension but...

are you looking for a lowered look? then you might want to go with eibach prokits with a subtle 1 inch drop.

or spend all your money on kick ass tires and maintenance- have you done the oil banjo bolt upgrade yet or checked your intake valve retainers?

the stock S suspension is so damn good that better tires will be a nice compliment. If you go R comps for the street(UTQG 100 or lower), then you'll be likely overtaxing the stock bits and will need an upgrade. but if you go R's then you'll need to weld up the front upper control arm mounts. but now we're getting ahead of ourselves.

good luck. its a slippery slope.

Ok scratch the suspension under 1k. I vote racing seat like touge said.

And from what I saw the G-force tires are all season tires. I was talking about getting some R-comp tires like said above.

If i had to do two mods to a stock s2000 I would go for a seat, some super sticky tires and track it!

Love my Eibach Pro Kit. I did the springs and sway bars. If you can do the work yourself, it will run less than $500.

I would want ( if I did it) a one inch ish drop. I am done with the dumped days. Did that for 10 years and I am over it. I never really thought about a racing seat.
I was really thinking about the dc5 r seats. But I was hoping for a little more power out of the na set up. Spoon throttle body?
Thanks for all the advice so far!

I vote either cams or throttle body. A tune wouldn't hurt but since it's an 01 flashpro is out of the question and so you would be hard pressed to do it on as low of a budget as 1k so I would say wait for a bit more and spring for an AEM V2 and tuning (you'll love the midrange gains)
