Default Wind Restrictor - Advice on the Look?

Looking for advice on this. I liked the idea of reduced turbulence and backdraft when cruising and I liked the pictures on the web, but looking at it on my car, not so sure... It does look like this is larger than the pictures on their site. This seems to come up to the top of the hoops, where the web pictures are clearly lower. Haven't driven with it, but reviews seem to indicate it is improved wind. But I think it's a bit obnoxious, but maybe it's because I'm used to the OEM one.

Who likes the look and who doesn't? Comments?

Sorry, just my opinion but that doesn't look too hot. Sticks up way too high. The stock one is perfect IMO.

This is what I was expecting - this is from their website. This is clearly a few inches shorter.

Hm the one pictured does seem to tall. I have had a taller one on my car for so long its just normal to me. I also went with a tinted piece that I think looks a bit better since it blends with the interior color more. It does make a noticeable difference especially if you are tall with with the wind.

I think if it followed the profile of the headrests, including the parting line between the two halves of the roll bar plastic covers it would look better

I’m looking at the illuminated version. Their web site has zero instructions on exactly what to expect or how to install.

It's pretty easy to install. I wired mine into the 12v illumination circuit in the center console for the backlight on the hazard switch. Power and ground were easy from the 12v socket by the glove box between the seats. If you remove the panels behind the seat (one of them, doesn't matter which) you can tuck the lighting box there pretty easy.

I ended up going with the normal height version rather than the one I had in the picture above. As for lighting, I actually rarely use it. At night, it needs to be dimmed down to almost the lowest setting; otherwise it's so bright it's obnoxious.

What did your’s cost? I don’t want to register on their site until I’m ready to buy. Quality? Any complaints? Any advice?

I forget what the cost was - I think around $180 all done. The quality is quite good - the base is metal and very low-profile. Some of the pictures are dated and if you look at my pictures, you can see the mount is very low profile and doesn't intrude on the plexi so much as some of their older pictures. The plexi is very thick. And, the customer service was phenomenal. When I wanted to switch to the lower-profile version (as opposed to the larger one in my picture), they sent me the shorter one without question. Easy to reach and very helpful. I would definitely recommend them.

One thing to know about it. If you get the dimmer module (which I did and recommend), it does remember the dim-level you had it at the next time you flip on the lights. However, for a very brief moment (as in 10ms) it flashes 100$ brightness when it turns on. It's not a huge deal, but it does essentially "flash" for a microsecond to the highest brightness when you turn on the lights. This is also the case even if you turn off the light completely. When you turn on your headlights, there's this lightening-quick flash of light from it. Just know that's the case if you are going to go with the lighted version. And, if you forego the dimmer, know this sucker is BRIGHT. Like, almost read-a-map-by-it-bright.

Mike,
How does the illumination work? Are the LED's (if that's what they are) within the base? Can you scan/photo the instructions and send them to CaptRehkopfatgeemail?
Thanks,
Robert
