Default Works Bell short hub with *no* quick release?

I want to run a smaller-than-stock steering wheel with no quick release. If the wheel stays in the same location as stock or even moves away from me a bit, that's good. What I don't want is to bring the wheel closer to me. The plan is the Works Bell short hub with a ~320mm Sparco wheel. Will this work or does the hub require a quick release as well?

^ I agree and it could make it very easy to bump your windshield wiper and blinker levers.

Regular length Works/Bell hub will place the wheel almost identical to stock... certainly not closer. It's probably your bet option.
