Default Ap1 IAT sensor

Is there anyone who has relocated the ap1 intake air temp sensor to a location like it is on the ap2? Any experience? Any difference?

Unless you have a standalone ECU, so that you can customize the fuel and ignition compensation tables for IAT, I think this would be a bad idea.

Jeff, quite a few turbo guys have done it with great success.

The problem with 06- cars is, the IAT sensor gets heat soaked. The reading that the sensor is providing does not necessarily correspond to the actual air entering the engine.

Anyhow, do some searching in the turbo section.

Relocating it to a position that does not get heat soaked would be beneficial, OEM or standalone. If you've ever tried to clean up fuel trims from a stock ECU (they're HIGH) and Greddy EMU, you'll see exactly how bad heat soaking the sensor affects the car. Nothing like waiting for your autoX run with the car trying to kill over at idle.

The OEM tables should already be set assuming no heat soak anyway.
