Default The job of the TPS sensor

Hi guys what kinda of info does the tps sensor provide the ecu

what is the normal closed throttle position percentage on a stock ap1?

can a miscalibrated tps sensor cause the car to run lean/rich?

Yes, but more likely an old O2 sensor, or old fuel injectors, rare that a TPS goes bad. It feeds voltage to the ECU like every sensor in the car. This one is a 3 cable, one is a reference voltage, one is ground one is signal. Nominal output is ~.5v at idle and ~4.5v at WOT, with smoothly increasing voltage as the TPS runs through it's range of motion.

Okay that was harsh but you don't seem very thankful for someone trying to help you out for your vague question that doesn't seem like you did much research on first.

The TPS does just what it sounds, computes the throttle position , like just how he described so don't know how you cant say he didn't answer your question.

And no I don't think it can, at least from my DBW perspective, all it does is compute the throttle position, if you are running lean/rich it is your fueling.

On stock ecu mine was at 5.5% when fully closed and 88% at WOT.

You can calculate percentage from the other answers as well.
0.5V would be 10% and 4.5V 90%

If you are trying to trace the one black spark plug, the tps cannot cause it.

If your TPS is not operating correctly you will very likely get a CEL.
