JDM F20 in 71 Datsun 510..E85 NA questions..Need help
I have searched for hours on this topic and i can't find anything pertaining to exactly what im after. As the post states i have a 2 dr 71 Datsun 510 with a JDM F20 ordered from Hmotorsonline. Im wondering if this is a good setup to go E85 on. Since im building the whole fuel system from scratch i can support E85 right out of the box. Read on for an outline of current setup. The car is currently in paint so im doing all my rearch and planning now. I want to have a starting point for when the motor goes in and eventually work up to a mild n/a build. Rear end is a subie r160 4.44LSD with CV axle conversion
Current Setup:
JDM F20 from hmotorsonline
PLM header (highly modified)
Short ram intake
JDM ECU
Eventually going to add:
ITBS
Valvetrain
Cams?
Overall goals:
I'd like 225whp maybe a little more
Questions:
Is this a good setup for E85?
What injectors would you recommend?
Is inline pro a good fuel rail to run with my -6 fuel setup and aeromotive FPR
What tuning would be best for either E85 or ITB's or both?
Is this a worthwhile setup or should i just run the f20 stock with tuning?
Can i meet my 225 WHP goals with what i have or will i need a lot more?
I have the whole build thread here if you want to check the car out. There are tons of pics in the thread
510 Build link
PICS:
Plm header (after modification to clear steering)
Motor mounts/Front subframe
Engine in car
rear end
fuel tank/pump/inline filter
all the parts stripped for the car to go to paint

im no expert but i would suggest not to run e85 unless it is readily available. You wont gain much power NA with E85 but if you were boosted the i would say yes for sure. You might be able to hit 225whp with full bolt ons and tune. but 220whp seems more like it.
I would suggest stock f20 with tune...but you should turbo it. it would make great power.

I want to keep the car N/A. Yes E85 stations are readily available I live in Kansas and there are quite a few around where i live. Plus the car isn't a DD so I'm not too worried about having to plan on fill ups. I was hoping the JDM f20 would like the octane of the E85 a little more than the 91 octane we have here. And what is considered "full bolt ons"
