A lightweight K-Miata sounds more fun than a K-S2k.

would a baffle in the oil pan resolve this issue if installing a k24 in the s2000?

Good thread Nabu.

My engine (F22) is out at the moment, and looks like an expensive rebuild so I loooked at K swap too. The Ballade kit looks great, but I wasnt sure about how well my Toda ITBs would fit angle wise, and I would jump up a class as an engine swapped car. I'd be tempted to try it but right now I think it's less hassle to stick with the F.

On the oil pan, you might want to look at this from one of the top race engine builders in the UK.

I've been pricing out a K-swap as I have been debating that or building the F-series. I've priced a K-swap to $4-6k for the engine management, 06+ TSX engine, and all adapted parts. That gets you a basic 230whp setup. Mind you a stock'ish K-swap itself will add a lot of torque so it very well will be faster. If you are considering a K-swap to get out of building the F-series you aren't saving a dime. You should consider a K-swap if you want to get into a much healthier aftermarket and a commodity motor if/when it pops.

FYI the clockwise motion baffle is not enough to stop oil starvation under braking. I would still have the oil light flash under hard braking with just the clockwise baffle. I put a plate between the timing cover and the pan made by track tuff. That solved it.

With my consultation with Tractuff this is what they recommended on top of the Baffle.
