actually a new FM will be $40K. of course, that doesn't include a season of tires/pads and maintenance. I just find it amazing how well the motors run and run and run and run for years before a rebuild or new motor is necessary.
I've heard you can budget a year of racing FM's at approximately $8K-$10K if you do all the work yourself.

The FM's are seen as tanks by the FF and FC racers. They're heavy and don't handle all that well compared to the FC's even though they do have as much or more power in the straights. They can bang into a car like mine and put me out of the race while they will can just keep on going. Don't get me wrong, I like them and if they had been a little less I would have bought one because of the reliability. They're also very roomy cars.
