You guys are making me want to build an STR car for next year.
Do it. STR is totally epic.

Congrats on the podium with the Volvo Ian. Well done.
Thank you, was hoping for a win, but it was a 3rd place effort and it got 3rd place results. Should gone all out and got shocks made and at least cut the muffler off. Thank you. I think the ole girl is retired now.

I started looking last night at what STR car I'd build if I didn't want to build an S2000 (just to be different). I'll tell ya what those old 911's are really appealing. Just no matter what way I work it your knocking on the door of $50k to buy & build/restore one. YIKES.

You mean dead silent with lots of tire noise and push videos. Lol they are on youtube. Ill get the links.

Sounds cheap compared to your K24-S2000 project... I'd love to see a 911 STR build - would a 911RS with the 2.7L motor qualify? I'm guessing it has to be a pre 1980 911 with the earlier motors (smaller than 2.8L right?).

And thank you to everyone else for the kudos!!!! It was a blast
Congrats on finally winning the championship this year
Thanks buddy. Was an awesome field of drivers. A great battle.

Mind sharing a bit of your setup? Shocks, spring rates, and tires? Just curious, thanks. I know Lugod uses A.R.E. valved 8300s.

911s can be up to the late 80's 3.2s. One of the big problems with those cars(to the best of my knowledge) is you cannot fit a 255 up front with STR-legal rolled fenders--although I'm not entirely sure you'd need it with the weight distribution. Here is a build thread for a STR 3.2 911 on RL: http://rennlist.com/forums/autocross...3-2-build.html

A friend of mine is considering joining STR next year in his M030 968.

Don't remind me about this K24 build. I'd have to sell it to build the STR car.

The early 911 prices have gone insane in the last year. A friend has a '73 S he bought for around $40k (10 yrs ago) that is now listed for $175k. I nearly bought one 7 years ago but went with the S instead.

I passed on a 993 Turbo with 18k miles on it for IIRC $50k a couple years back. Oh what a mistake that was.
