2018 S2K Challenge Round 7.1: Buttonwillow 13 CCW
Round 7, also known as S2 Carnage is done and behind us!
One of our most eventful days, that reminds us why we take a short break in the summer, it was a cool 96 degrees in Buttonwillow, setting the pace for a sweaty weekend of 13 Counter Clockwise fun!
In stock class we had 2 participants, 2 place goes to Tom Sera with a lap time of 2:24.35 and 1st place going to S2K Challenge regular Jorge Trujillo!
Street class continues the battle for street class champion 2018 with a shootout between the current first and second place contenders, Yukio Kishimoto and Ryan LaFontaine! With this round Yukio taking 2nd place with a 2:06.40 and Ryan with the first-place victory with a lap time of 2:05.71 awesome driving guys! We all appreciate the entertainment of watching you two go head to head!

Mod class had a total of 7 competitors, one of them, suffered a car failure for the first time in the season and was unable to compete, Ryan Delegrosso, in 7th with a DNF, let’s hope to see him ready to win next round! coming in with a vengeance and inching closer to podium we have Adan Calderon in his car appropriately named “Winnie The Pooh” in 6th place with a lap time 2:06.99, coming up in 5th place, we had first time challenge participant Jacob Mitchel with a lap time of 2:04.35, nice driving Jacob! In 4th place we had Justin Taylor in his experimental F24 Set up with a lap time 2:04.19, now for podium! In 3rd place we have another first-time competitor James Mehl with a lap time of 2:03.79, in 2nd place we have current male model and all-around genius Kevin Burke! With a lap time of 2:02.33, and in 1st place we have first time competitor but long-time driver David Palmer, who actually drove the front bumper off of his car in a later session, put down an impressive 2:01.88, nice driving mod class!
