Default Alignment for track car, AP2

2004 stock motor, 255/275 Toyo R888. Just installed HKS Hypermax III sports coilovers and have at the settings they ship it with for the S2000. Its like 14 clicks clockwise from 30 about 25 clicks available (sorry I just installed thur. and everything is in Japanese).

Alignment when on stock suspension:

-2.3 rear with 1/16 toe in per side
-1.5 front with 0 toe

The new suspension dropped the ride height about 1 inch. (approx 13 1/8 inch from center of hup to fender edge)

Drove the car Sat. night on track and it felt wonderful, predictable and easy to control. My question: seeing my wear triangles on the front tires are still wearing about 50% what would you recommend going to for new alignment? Tire pressures were 38 psi front 34 psi rear HOT.

Thanks!

Nothing.how can you expect anyone to make a recommendation without telling them what you want? Sounds like it's fine.

Ok so is wear beyond the tip of the "wear triangle" normal? I have no idea but thought in general, if your tires are wearing beyond the tip of the triangle you are asking too much of them. I thought that was when more camber was needed. I have no idea if I am right, just trying to go faster like many folks on this forum. I am not racing and dont know if the inside tread tire temp is equal to the outer edge tread temp, i think that ultimately tells the story. I hope to get into grassroots racing and right now am getting competitive with the TT times in my region, so if that the "what you want" you are talking about, I hope thats enough info. If wearing 50% of the "wear triangle" is normal than I have learned something and this thread is dead.

You can get ballpark alignment figures from someone hear on the forum, but your best bet is to find a local race shop that does alignment and begin to develop a relationship with them. Your alignment will evolve as your driving style/skills evolve. If you're lucky enough, you might find a competent mechanic who can quantify your feedback into meaningful alignment changes. He will certainly have a better chance of success than a bunch of guys hundreds of miles removed from you on their computers.

With that said, it is safe to say that it wouldn't hurt to run more camber up front on your car. How much depends on a number of factors that I, nor anyone else can garner from behind a computer screen. If you're looking for a number I would say there are members here that run anywhere from -1.5 to -4 degrees of camber on the front of their cars. I personally run -4.1 degrees at tracks with less vital braking zones and lots of high-speed corners, but as little as -3.4 at tracks with lots of high speed braking and tighter corners. It really just depends
