The Elise was not classed at this meeting. Apparently the SAC had some new and pressing issues that bumped the Elise from the docket. Maybe next month.

As far as what has been released so far, I will just say that the SEB did not agree with the SAC recommendations 100%. This is not unusual or unexpected.

Will the SAC recommendations ever become public information? I'd like to know on which of the issues the subject experts agreed with the SEB, and on which of the issues they agreed with me
I've seen several comments to the effect that it all makes sense in terms of the "long term strategy". Is the membership permitted to know what the long term strategy is?

Well, if the move to AS wasn't a knife in the heart, for those of you who run your S2000s competitively using the SCCA's class index, AS just got a bump UP in the indexes. It's unofficial, but it's unofficial in the same way that the move to AS is; it's gonna happen unless a miracle happens. I thought that they would just leave the AS index alone and move all the S2000s in, but no, they gotta make it even harder for us next year. 2005 will not be a good year for the S2000s. Sorry for the crappy news.

Actually, the SAC did discuss and make a recommendation on the Elise, as well as other cars not mentioned in what has been release so far. Ball is in the SEB's court.

Sorry for the mis-information.

Knife in the heart is certianly too strong - the top three s2000's were all significantly faster than AS this year at nationals - the S (any year) is a competive car in either AS or BS.

I think it's been said but you guys are worrying to much. To be honest I Think A-stock is probably shaking in their boots. I almost bought a C-4 vette for A-stock, I'm glad I didn't do that!!!!

I do absolutely agree that the SEB should have and publish for comment the long term stategy or objectives for classing, including perhaps how to approach cars that prove to be significantly better or worse than expected when they were classed.
