Default Anti Bump Steer Kit

Having got the BSK installed I found i had to disassemble it from the car to adjust the rose joint lenght, it was at this stage that I found some "squashing/distortion" of the 2 alloy spacers that go at either end of the spherical joint.

The "squashing/distortion" was not a lot but never the less it was there, I had tightened the assembly down to 40lbs which is 3lbs less than it states for the OEM control arm nut.

I remedied the possible "squashing" by making some conical spacers to spread the load more and this has done the trick.

and here they are fitted

That has been addressed with the new adpaters that are one peice with the large spacer and the second small spacer is now 304 stainless as well.

When was this addressed? When did kits start being sold with this refinement?

Thanks,

Pierre. whose BSK is presently in transit.

I ordered mine 10th Jan 2005 and it was still the "Mk 1" then.

Will TC design be sending this "upgrade" out to all the customers that have this "Mk 1" ?

We will not be upgrading customers since there is not a problem witht he old ones. Yes there is an initial compression on the smaller spacer, but once torqed they are not going to go anywhere. The adapter piece has been changed to a single unit piece to add strength and ease the manufacturing of these kits since there are now less pieces. If a gen 1 kit does want to purchase the upgrade the parts I will sell them at my cost, $40. I will verify that you have a gen 1 kit first though, I will not sell these parts to someone that does not own a kit.
