Default Anyone made or considered homemade swaybar?

Just wondering if anyone has made or contemplated making their own bar similar to the gendron bar. Although i know the gendron bar is a quality piece i think that the cost is outrageous. After doing a little bit of research it seems that you can get all the parts from speedway and with a little fabrication and elbow grease you could make a very similar bar for about half the price or less. I just think its outrageous that he makes a very similar bar for the rx8 and he charges almost half because he doent have such a big market and because on the s2000 its pretty much the end all of bars that they charge over 600 bux. Just looking for thoughts and opinions. Here is a link to the page with the speedway stuff

The RX8 bars are cheaper because there is less fabrication in them. You are correct, all the pieces can be bought at Speedway cheaper. However, the arms need to be cut down and bent. When I made mine I was lucky enough to work someplace where I had access to a host of equipment. A CNC plasma cutter was used to shape the arms to clear the steering rack. I think a mill could be used for this too. Then a press break was used to get the bend. You could also heat up the arm with a torch and bend them. Unless you work someplace where you have access to the tools I wouldn't attempt this. If you have to pay for fabrication you're going to be hard pressed to beat SFR's price.

The only other solution I've seen is to go over the steering rack. This avoids cutting down the arms but you still need to bend them out. New brackets to mount the bar to the chassis need to be used as well as longer barrels for the rod ends.

I made a rear bar with speedway parts. The rear was easy, but a front bar would be a pain, IMO.
