Default Anyone selling their APR wing? or anything similar

Hey Guys,

I want to get a wing for my track car. I like the APR wing, but damn they are expensive. Was wondering if anyone is selling theirs? Or if you know of a similar cheaper wing? I mean forgetting quality for a minute, how much different do these actually perform then a universal ricer wing found on ebay for 150 bucks? LOL

I'd like to see some inexpensive options for a track car wing.

When do you really start to benefit from a Wing? I have been tossing the idea around but not sure if I am at the stage were I "need" a wing? If you have a wing, when did you "think" you needed it?

I wish i can find a wing that is not carbon. Because the APR wing is a twil weave, and my hood and roof i just ordered are plain weave, so i wanted everything to match. If i do buy the APR wign I am going to wrap it, and i feel bad covering the carbon.

Or you could DIY a wing for a whole lot less...

search around and pick a profile
send the profile to an RC airplane builder to get a foam core cut
find a junked fridge with working compressor and remove the compressor
get some CF (or fiberglass), epoxy, and vacuum bagging supplies (the resin and CF will be the expense of the whole operation)
vacuum bag the sumbitch, using the refrigerator compressor as a vacuum pump
uprights can be pretty easily made in a home shop, or pay a local machine shop a few bucks to make them to your specs
attaching the uprights to the wing left as an exercise for the reader

GTC-300 is what, $1400? You can do this under $400 if you price your own labor a $0/hour.

thats ok, I'm going to spend $950 on a GTC 300 don't have the time to go have some one build a wing when there out there already.

But if thats what you want to do then hey by all means.
