Anyone Tried Racing Brake XT970 Track Pads?
After 2 1/2 years of track use I finally cracked one of my RacingBrake.com's Accord/NSX "Track Duty" rotors. The failure mode was exactly like my last crack back in 2009. A small crack made it through the outside edge and I started to pick up a mild vibration under braking. I've been using the Carbotech "Endurance" pads for the last year and they're very hard on rotors--very similar to the abrasive Carrbotech XP12. I think I could have gotten a lot more life from the rotors if I had stuck with XP10s.
The 2009 crack--the 2013 crack looks exactly the same.
While on the phone with Warren of RacingBrake ordering the replacement rings (I'm going with plain, non-slotted this time) he talked me into trying a set of their XT970 pads made for dedicated track cars. Has anyone tried these pads? RacingBrake rotors are so amazing I figure they should know how to pair their rotors with pads. They also make the XT960 for guys that drive their track car to the track and the XT910 for street cars.
I'll review the XT970s after I get a few events under my belt with them.

is there a reason for abandoning the open slot design?
