Default AP2, track with VSC on/off?

I am tracking my S on May 29th for the first time. Question: Those with AP2s, do you run with VSC on or off (on track, not autoX)?
Being my first track day with this car, I will start with it on. I am wondering tho, how intrusive is it on the track?

No one can answer that question for you. Are you going to do anything different at your track day if the advice you receive on this forum disagrees with your gut feel? Start with it on, and if / when you find it too intrusive, turn it off. If driving with it off scares the living daylights out of you, turn it back on again.

Well, if lots of people tell me they have seen no effect on lap times with it on, then I would leave it on. Or, might get confirmation that I should leave it on and use it as a learning tool. Like-if you feel it kick in, you are doing something wrong.
Lots of possibilities. I am just trying to learn from those who have been there.

If you're looking to learn car control, then you may want to turn it off. If you want an added "safety net", then leave it on. Having it off will allow you to do things with the car that you can't do when it's turned on. It's up to you to decide if that's a good or bad thing.

But, keep in mind that even VSC won't save you if you do something incredibly stupid.

BTW... I'm in an '03 and I've never had/used VSC, so take my advice w/ a grain of salt.

I find the VSC to be way too intrusive on the track, but if I was still learning it could keep certain bad habits in check.

Haven't used in on track yet, but for autox it was the most annoying thing ever. The thing is, having it come on doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. Sometimes VSC wants to come on because it thinks you're doing something wrong but you may be doing something that you completely intended to do.

Do what you feel is comfortable. You should be watching as many videos as you can to familiarize yourself with the track. You want to have a clear mind when tracking and wondereing about VSC is not something you should be thinking about.

It is a bit intrusive but perfect while you are a bit uncomfortable with car or a new track.

For my first road course day in the s2k i did the first session with VSA on to get familiar with the car and the track then turned it off for the remaining runs. VSA is pretty cool for a traction control devise. It will let you slide out a couple of feet before kicking in. What vsa really doesnt like are those really tight U-turn like corners which in that case doesnt allow for much play so I can see this being horible for autox.

I agree with PedalFaster, no one can make this judgment except for yourself. But it doesnt hurt to do a couple of laps or even a session with it on first then you can make that judgment for yourself. On the other hand, turn it off right away a make some rookie mistake and your car is toast.
