Auto-x A/S question: koni shocks

Default Auto-x A/S question: koni shocks

I just got a set of koni and found out that there is 2 lv for the ring to adjust the height.

does a/s allow us to use the lower one?

please advise

Ride height must be within stock specs...if the lower perch keeps you within the stock height range (and most cars it will not) then you can use the lower perch.

Not sure if it is still required, but many years ago you had to weld the perch setting for Konis in stock class...but I hope the SEB got rid of that rule by now.

negcamber's unfortunately incorrect. Read the shock rules (the SCCA rulebook is available online) -- ride height isn't what has to be stock, but rather the distance between the spring perch and the mounting points. What that means for the S2000's Koni's is that you must use the higher perch.

Curious question, which would give the better handling, the higher or lower perch (not taking the SCCA rules in account for a moment)?

Thanks for the clarification. You are absolutely correct...and it does not look like you have to weld the perch any longer either as you did back in the '90s.
