Default Azenis RT-615

This is going to be a stupid question but I really need to seek someone's advice on this... I've been running Azenis RT-615 for my tires and I am going to a track event in a couple of weeks. My tires are almost gone but still showing a little bit of grooves left, not completely looking like slicks but almost. I am running -2.75 camber at the rears...I was wondering if I can run another track event or if I should get some fresh ones? The track event I'm attending goes by heats... Maybe about 5x 20 min. runs for the entire day.

Thanks,
Rod

All I can tell you is that I went to an autocross with kumho mx's in similar condition and had to drive an hour and a half home on the spare because I had 6 inch long pieces of rubber hanging off the inside of my rears. I was also slow as crap and couldn't keep the rear planted. So - you are going to add some quick wear to your new ones, but you will probably have a lot more fun and get home safer. Your tires have probably been through too many heat cycles, so the rubber is going to be hard and slippery. I'm not the final word on this by any means, though.

You will be driving pretty hard, do you want to risk your life on an almost bald tire?

In the 2 day event this weekend, I went through about 1/2 of my tread in the front. It's time to rotate. I'd get new ones.

I'd examine how much tread you really have left, and plan on burning at least 2/32's off at the track. Azenis can be run safely to just above cord from my experience.

That being said, ... I am not the final word on this.

I wouldn't risk ruining a track day by running hardened and/or almost bald street tires...but that's just me.
