Best Track Wheel Setup?
I am going to be tracking on my stock wheels for now but to be honest, I like polls and trying to get some debate going, so I was wondering, in the future, what would be an ideal setup? Is non-staggered really the best? Is there a point where wider starts to detract from performance? Obviously wheel size doesn't mean anything without proper tires, I am not talking about stretching the tires either.
For #1, I have a few choices in mind, Enkei PF01, TSW Nurnburg or Interlagos, or 6ULR. Or, there are Volks in that size of course, but I could get two sets of the others for the same price...
For #2 and #3 there are some Enkeis that are in these sizes that may be good, RPF1, NT+03 etc.
For #4 and 5 looking at Enkei PF01 and PF01SS
For #6 there is SSR Type C and Type F (very light)
For # 7 there is Enkei PF01 or RPF1
For #8 I am not sure, but I know there are obviously wheels produced in those sizes
For #9 I doubt I'd ever put all the money into running a full widebody but figured I'd list as an option
For # 10 I would look at OZ Allegerita (15.9 lbs!)
For #11 I found a place where I can apparently get the BBS wheels from Evo X for ~$1000 but the hub bore is 67.1 which is a problem.
High offset wheels are obviously better in that I don't have to do/pay for any body work. However, does this limit ability to add a BBK in the future?
Lastly, to clarify if I understand offset correctly, if I am running a 255 on a 10" wheel with a +45 offset, it will have no more chance of rubbing than a 255 on a 9" wheel with a +45 offset because although the edge of the wheel will stick out more, the edge of the tire (part that rubs) will be in same position?
Thanks for participating, makes my day at work more interesting!

That was a lot to take in...but, a 10" +45 will "stick out" and "in" about a 1/2" or 12.5 mm more than a 9" +45. But yes, I believe you're right about the tire rubbing. The center of the wheel and tire will be in the same position in relation to the car.
I am running a 9" +45 w/255's.

I was thinking along the same lines before I did my first track day. I personally would start with a wheel and tire that fits without major modifications. So A 17x9 +60 and up with a 255/40-17 or 245/40-17 tire. You may still need to roll your fenders slightly depending on your suspension setup. I think it's been proven that non-stag is the way to go but you need to know how the characteristics of the car change with more rubber up front.
I know...that's why I said I am going to be on stock wheels for now...but I just wanted to hear what other people like using, or would prefer. Forums help pass the time at work, so I like trying to start up ones where a lot of people participate.
RS-2000, I may go with one of those setups later on down the line. There are a few wheels in the 17 x 9 +60ish offset that aren't too expensive and are lightweight. Do you run something similar?

Unfortunately because of racing regulations I had a understeer set-up (235/255).
BUT I would have loved to try 255/295...
17x9 +63 x 255 x 4
Doesn't rub, you can rotate tires for much, much more tire life, less under steer to compensate for stiff aftermarket front sway bar which you'll need to fight inside rear tire lift.
