^ GC claims that those tophats they sell only work with their products ... which i'm guessing probably means they only work with 2.5" id springs. Isn't that what you had ur perches machined to?

The GC tophats also buy you some extra shock travel cuz they were made to offset the lenght of the universal bodied Koni Sports. Prolly not a big deal w/ the bilsteins but couldn't hurt i suppose.

2.5" springs for the GCs.
When would this be a problem?

Yea they're machined to 2.5" because I was able to borrow some 2.5" springs.

I'm fairly certain that GC uses 2.5" springs and if IIRC the GC marketing material says that the mounts only work with the GC system.

The Bilstein springs and spring perchs are set for 2.75" (70mm) id so the GC tophats may not work with them.

Did you use a spring perch? Or is the spring just centered in the top hat. I just wanted my spring to be square. The usable stroke of swift 6x2.5" 12kgf/mm (672lbs/in) is 2.8 inches and I'm not sure what happens to that when the spring is not square. Would it be reduced by the amount it's not square or would it be more?

stock hats with no extra perch or anything. the springs wont really move much specially if you have the tenders holding it in place. you wont need all that stoke length. you will bottom out your shocks before ever fully compressing those springs.

if i come into some free money i would do spherical but i'm in no rush to.

I'm not using tender or helper springs at the moment, I put that money into my top hats which may not have been the best choice.

Got the fronts revalved and I put them in with the stock top hats.
I can finally feel what the car is doing grip wise. It was very neat to put the rears in first to get a comparison between the stock bilstein and revalved bilstein.
