buddy club rails harness mounting
Are the seat belt mounting holes on the buddy club seat rails safe for a 6 pt harness?
I believe 00-05 seat belts bolt to the chassis, whereas the stock belts on 06+ bolt to the oem seat. For the inner lap mount, I can drill a hole in the transmission tunnel, but not sure how/where to drill for the outer lap mount.
I'd like to just use the holes on the buddy club rails, but 2 things concern me.
1) reports of weak welds. I haven't had a problem with the seat mounts though.
2) the angle rearward isn't as far back as the standard mounting points.
Thoughts?

The belt on my 2006 mounts to the body just like the above picture. The buckle attaches to the rails.
Are you talking about a place to mount the inner lap belt or the outer one?

Yeah the belt mounts to the body. The clip mounts to the rail, thats how it has always been.
You should use an Eye bolt in the stock bolt location and just get a clip mount for your harness. That was the easiest way I thought and what I did.

DO NOT MOUNT YOUR SEAT BELT TO THE BUDDY CLUB RAILS. The seat belt mount fell off of mine in shipping. There's no way it would hold up in an accident.

In any case 6 pt harness have regulations/guidlines (angle in relation to your seat and body) for mounting. And they should always be anchored to the vehicles body/chassis or roll cage.

I have hole drilled trough the floor eith a bolt through the floor and a backing plate. Filled hole with a little silicone/something, painted the effected areas, you could even spray a little undercoat on the bottom if dual duty car

Double checked - drivers side still mounts to the chassis. Passenger side mounts to the seat.
Looks like I'll have to figure a place to drill in the chassis outer passenger side (currently mounts to the floor with the seat mount)
