Default in-car camera mount

I am sure this has been discussed before but I could not find any threads through the search function. I just started Auto Xing and I got bit. I would like to install my video camera inside the car so I it looks through the windshield. I would like to make it a quick disconnect and preferably something that does not require drilling. Picts, if you have them would be great. Thanks for your help.

Most people replace the windscreen on the secret compartment lid with a camera mount.

I was thinking that was the easiest thing to do. Is there a way you can make it so you can switch between the two easily, so you don't loose the screen when the camera is not mounted?

Thanks

The screen mounts with just two bolts through the compartment lid. Assuming the camera mount uses the same two holes, it's pretty quick and easy to swap between the two if desired.

I have an S2000 camera mount made by Speed Mount that is installed in place of the wind screen on the secret compartment lid. Willing to sell for $50 + shipping, it's in perfect condition. Used about 8 or 10 times. Lemme know if interested.

Some video taken with Cannon mini DV40 and the Speed Mount Setup with external mic in passenger footwell. Great setup, I really liked it. My vid is the 2 Laps one...

Thanks for the offer. Is it something that you made your self? Do you have any pict of it on your car? Is it something that you can switch between the screen and the mount quickly? How does the camera mount to it? is it a universal mount? Or do you use a tri pod mount?

Thanks

John

Here is a thread that I studied for a while before getting myself a x-mas present this year! (MPTuning Mount)

Several pics and links, including some good feedback.

Yeah, I have the MPTuning mount, too. Simple design... has room for 3 cameras (in case you want forward, rearward, and pedal/dash angles). And as the others have said, since it uses the holes for the windscreen, you can swap it out in 5-10 minutes.
