So YOU'RE the guy who spun. Any ill effects to the engine?
BTW, check again for an external mic input, I would think your camea would have one. And if you'd like to place a mic on yourself or in the car, you might want to check these low cost mics out:

I checked the camera again, and I also went to the Canon site and looked up the specs. Nada on the remote mic for the ZR80.
I did notice, however, that this camera has a vibration compensation system, so maybe that's why it looks so stable.
Regarding the engine, it was fine (I checked it pretty thoroughly). Because I had started to turn, I spun out very quickly. I think that saved the engine. The clutch disc damper cover did break, however, and it chewed up the flywheel and pressure plate too. So I paid for it.
