The fact that the coilovers are able to cause chassis deflection in such a measurable matter that it'll prevent installing a shock tower/strut/"noob" bar should indicate that they do minimize chassis flex
I would bet a bent bar.
did you even look at my post with the link?

It shows you that there is no horizontal stress on the shock towers.
its all in the massive bar between the actual control arm area.

I have a really shiny bar mounted under the hood. I know it doesnt make any real difference in handling but I think it makes a fun place to handcuff barely legal hitch hikers for a rousing round of Grease Monkey.

"mind giving me a hand checking the oil real quick?"

fender braces. LMAO. pwned.

Actually, it shows you that there is some. What it doesn't show you is that the effect of restricting this is not what the STB fans thing it is. It actually acts as a (very inefficient) spring rate increaser.

^ Good point, if they have high temperature thermal coating on them, you can actually use them to rest your hand on high you work on the car when it is hot.

I never thought of them as an 'accessory.' Thanks for the visual, it almost trumps what you did in Unabageler's berlina back in the Barossa days

petawabit,

You are obviously not going to get the answer you are fishing for in this thread.

I suggest you try the JDM forum. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=148
You'll likely get lots of info on which bars are easier and harder to install and where to find a good deal on the one you really want.

Have you personally tried fender braces?

This is the type of response I would have never expected from an "admin." Is this not a discussion board or is it a flame board?

Thank you Dave, I appreciate the time you put in to add in something constructive. Due to the poor search function of s2ki, I've found it very difficult to get any first hand information; some of these responses don't exactly help either

Spring rate increaser or shock travel increaser?

actually the posts in here do help. They just don't give you the answer you -want-.

davepk just politely linked you to another forum where they'll tell you the more it costs the better it must be.

Oh come on. You show up and the black and white ball in a red stripper outfit and wonder why everyone's pointing and laughing?

There are many threads in the sub forum about why stb and all the current after market bracing for the S2K is crap. Search sucks sure, but do your eyeballs suck too?
