CosmosMpower, Yup, some helmets just don't have great ear pockets, thus the uncomfort.

gerryk, Interesting. I bolted mine right onto the left side of the helmet withthe included clip as that is the side it will be needed on most of the time. I never thought about a big velcrom patch on both sides of the helmet so I can just swap it to the right side when the student goes for a ride with me.

Does the bolting require any modification to the helmet?

No, it's two pieces of plastic with brass threads pressed into 2 holes. The two pieces of plastic work like a clamp and are squeezed to the helmet with a couple small alen bolts included. The Chatterbox unit slips on and off the taller outside piece. So, in simple terms, no damage or mod neede to your helmet other than pulling the padding away from the inner shell so you can tuck wires behind it, but the padding just goes back into place. It really is a clean looking design if ya take a few minutes to plan ahead and put it together.

Back from the dead, but I ordered a set for when my wife goes to the track.

SPS (a longtime SCCA supporter) stocks them:

Pretty much the same price as quoted here a few years ago. A couple of bucks more than the bargain basement sites online, but I like supporting a vendor that supports racers.

I have been thinking of getting something better for some time. What else is out there now? Opinion's of what you use? I had hoped for something wireless.
