I bought them marchish but didnt put them on till halfway through this season. Im not sure if the street miles did it? but I only put on maybe 5-600... and 5 track days or so. The pads had meat left.
Ive had 2 sets of VRs, and never had any problem like this.
cracked oil pan, blown RA-1s, brake pads falling apart... not a good year for me

I found out the hard way. On my H1 car I was killing pads... found out my brake ducting worked to well, I took them out and it solved the problem.

My car is a daily driver and I've only used Spec VR's, Carbotech XP12's, and now the XR2's as my full-time pad. I usually get about 9,000 miles (on the VR's and XP 12's) including half-a-dozen tracks days on a set of pads.
One of the cars Cobalt tested the XR2's on was their own daily driven Civic. You might want to speak with Andy or Glen at Cobalt about your broken pad. I'd be curious to know why they think that happened.
no way. I've done it on cobalts for years. presently I have oem pads in my street car because I got tired of the noise and don't track the street car much.
But you can run race pads on the street just fine and they (atleast cobalts, even the VRs) work just about as good as oem.
Keep spreading the voodoo tho

I left my VR's on after my last track day. They had 3mm of pad material at that point. I went through those 3mm in less than 4 weeks of driving.
Maybe I just brake harder on the street then you do.

I'm not saying street driving race pads does not work(Colbalt XR2). I'm saying they are out their working heat range and increased pad and rotor wear will happen.
