Default Comptech ver. 2 swaybar mounts not red?

I recently got a new ver. 2 Comptech bar and the mounts are plain Al. I thought they would be anodized red? Does anyone know if the bar ships with "nude" mounts now? just wondering if I should have a local shop anodize them (maybe a cool black color) for protection from corrosion or does it not matter?

Aluminum doesn't rust.

No but it does get a layer of unsightly corrosion. I want my $700 bar to look nice.

The Comptech swaybar mounts have been bare aluminum for over a year now. Looks cool enough for me and far better than reusing the stock mounts like Saner and Gendron.

OK, cool. I was wondering if I just got a batch that missed the anodizing shop. If thats the way they are supposed to come, I'll leave them as is.

You got the std finish mounts...?

I hear they make your car slower.

I just installed my new Comtech bar with the non red mounts. They are anodized, it is just clear anodized. This is Type 1 anodize, Type 2 adds a dye to make them a color, typically black, or red, or.....

It went in nicely, a good fit, and just clears the rack.

Thanks for all the input. In case anyone else tries to use the useless search engine and somehow finds this thread:

1) The Ver 2 Comtech Race Swaybar mounts now come in the natural AL color. They do not come in red like the earlier versions.

2) the newer mounts are not as fast as the cool red ones.
