DavePK's OpenSource brake system design
Although this system is no longer in use, I thought I'd bump this thread for all the folks who've been asking about other brake options lately.
The current owner of the car has elected to go back to OEM brakes because this system didn't have anti-lock. (Too many flat spotted tires) Since the car is no longer f/i, the big brakes really weren't needed anymore.
From having driven on this braking system before it was dismantled, I would have to say they were the most responsive brakes I've ever used. The pedal feel/control was just phenomenal.
Dave put a tremendous amount of work into this, and all his trial and error is here in print to keep you from having to do the same...

Sorry trivium,
I think your pm got lost in a stack of pms.
I still have all the components i collected in making this brake setup stored in a box in our club house. I'll go through it sometime soon and generate a parts list for what i have.
I'v been considering reinstalling this brake setup with one or two possible changes. The first possible change would be to keep the ABS unit installed this time, the second possible change would be to use a thinner rotor than the 1.25" thick rotor i used last time. Switching rotors would require yet another set of front calipers but as cheap as they are this shouldnt be too much of a deterrent.
More later as i'm in Baden Baden at the moment and we are off to the ring early tomorrow morning. Time now for a hike upto the old Schloss
