I have been looking at the DIY Aero thread on Miata turbo.net and I thought we should have one like that in our racing section.

Has anyone ever done a DIY flat underbody for the S2000? Is it even worth the time? There's a $3k carbon fiber kit out there for the S2k, but I was thinking of doing something similar made out of alumalite or something similar for fun.
^I like how it comes out the side similar to the side steps people install on the car.
I've seen people using corrugated panels online too:
I would like to build something that would tie from the front splitter to the rear diffuser, with side steps as well. It would be made in pieces and it could be taken off for street driving, if desired. Thoughts? How effective is it (worth the time/money) to do a completely flat under body for an HPDE car?

I think it all depends on what you can do for the cost. remember you will need to find solutions to cool the trans and the diff. Making sure all three main unit connect together semi easily if you plan to take them off that often. I think its a good idea though.
