I think you have to get the CR trunk with the CR wing. If I remember correctly, the CR trunk has reinforcements to support the downforce effects of the CR wing.
My question is, if I were to get a CR wing replica (since authentic CR wings are hard to come by and expensive) will I need to reinforce the trunk or get the CR trunk? Thanks in advance.
I would suspect that even the replicas would make enough downforce that a non-reinforced trunk would warp.

However, the CR spoiler or a replica will bolt onto a non-cr trunk perfectly fine.

see: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...post&p=19875538 for CR trunk specifics

in my opinion, I have an AP1 and added the J's racing twin canards, When I was staggered it helped allot on the turn in on a 225 front tire w/ 255 rear. I know the Race Like Bunnies AP2 had a CR front on staggered wheel set up at Redline in Fontana and they were running slower than me, I took my canards off and now run 255 squared and the car was extremely balanced. So w/ that, if your staggered, go for it. I thought would.

Well, I did decide to get the CR front wing. Since this is my daily driver, I really didn't want the CR rear wing though. So I got the OEM rear wing (not the lip). I've got no idea though if the rear wing is really aerodynamically correct as nobody really replied to that aspect of my question.

As a newbie to the track, and given this is my daily driver, what I'm most concerned about is oversteer and spinning off the track and damaging the car. That's why I was hesitant about adding the CR front wing. I am running a staggered setup with 225 up front and 255 in the rear.

If you are that worried about oversteer, I wouldn't touch the aerodynamics on your car at all. Just run your stock aerodynamics at the track and learn how to control your car. Then you can make modifications from there.

^ I totally agree.

Oversteer is manageable once you learn to handle/control/catch it. Once you learn that, start tweaking other things based on your goals and/or preferences.

oem rear wing does pretty much nothing for aero.

as for the oversteer, i recommend just getting comfortable with the car and handling dynamics. if you do newbie track errors like lift throttle in a corner or accidentally trail brake, you're going to spin out regardless of your aero.

Ok so one guy asked about CR wing on non-CR trunk...DON'T DO IT. Buy the CR trunk as well or make some kind of reinforcement. Yesterday I noticed my CR wing has completely ripped my trunk. Like it is cracked under the rear-most bolt like 2 inches on both sides. It's a matter of time before it goes all the way through and I am broke until my taxes come in haha. Anywho, if you spend the money on the wing, spend the money on making it work RIGHT the first time so you aren't like me having to repair or buy a new trunk 3 months later.

Js Racing makes center mount reinforcements...

S2000 Center Mount Reinforcement Kit
Parts# UHK-S1 Price $141.00

The kit provides two FRP panels to be installed in the rear area sides of the trunk. Panels reinforce the trunk area to prevent deformation. The reinforced structure will increase the effectiveness of the GT wing.

Disconnect your rear swaybar for track events (or remove it completely; I don't miss mine even on the street). It's a liability on the track regardless of setup or handling balance.
