Good thing I only live 6hrs from there and will probably run.....oh say 4-5 events there in 2010
:grumble:

Meanwhile, the lot of us will be running our selection on asphalt. No worries... not many national winners are 'local' anyways.

I drove my car into work today. I'm looking out two big ass windows at 65deg and sun - I DO NOT want to be here - I want to be out with the top down driving.

This car is the most fun street car I've ever driven - even with 1000lb springs on it. These Koni's keep surprising me with what they can do...

Yep, I'm enjoying the new DD STR car as well.

IMO, not worth the price of admission. If I wanted to buy tires that cost the same as Hoosiers...I would have stayed in AS

Yeah I was pretty much just going to go down the list of Isley's testing in Sportscar. I talked to him and he said the only reason he didn't run Hankooks because they weren't as good as the Dunlops in the rain. In the dry - it was a toss up between the two.

I think a lot will come down to whats available for contingency next year as well. I could easily see myself having Toyo stickers permanently on the car for when it rains and then just cover them up when I run a different tire

I’m in the camp that thinks the 30-60mph thrust (product of torque and gearing, not HP) of a properly tuned AP2 will be a substantial advantage. I know lots of people say power doesn’t matter in autocross, but I’ve become a believer that 30-60mph 2nd gear thrust does matter.

An AP2 with an 8600rpm rev limit and 255 tires is going to go from 30-60 substantially faster. One of these days I’ll do the math. I think someone may have mentioned that the MX5 30-50mph time is actually pretty good, so they don’t give up as much to the S2000s as you think. Heck, it’s why e-stock cars are so fast. They go 25-45mph pretty surprisingly quickly… just nothing after that.

That said, I bought an AP1 for dirt cheap last year. It’s what I have. So, I’m going to put the shorty 245/35/17 Toyo R1Rs on it and try to out drive and out engineer all the other guys. Easy, right?

Here! Here!

Except for the engineer part. Screw that. I think too much at work. I just wanna drive.

[QUOTE=glagola1,Nov 6 2009, 07:57 AM]FWIW, when I turn off VSA, I can make the car do anything I want so I assume it goes away completely.
