Default Element Tuning Time Attack STI

Just thought this might interest some of you here,
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1961054

Shows how beneficial the HANS is and how not-so beneficial mounting APR wings with taller pylons could be. There are many variables to account for of course, parts batch quality, usage, airfoil angle, etc... but just something to consider

Post #72 shows pictures of the failure point on the airfoil mounting brackets

Ouch, that hurt. Sorry to hear. I don't think the HANS offered much additional protection in that type of crash, but better to have than not.

Wow...I keep watching it. I'm running an APR GTC 200 wing...I'll make sure not to modify it. Jeeez...so scary man...so scary!

I do get the impression that the drivers steering input is too much on most of the corners.
Or is that due to the large camra lens angle?!
\
Although he showed a nice quick reaction when teh car went sideways, it seems to me like he could have avoided that situation while drving smother with less steering input even though the wing has gone.

Glad the driver is OK

I saw this last week over on nasioc. He ended up being fine, even with a autopower 4 point as his only roll over protection.

I am glad he is okay.
With the wing or not, I don't think he would make the corner at 148mph.

Hes ran a 1:58 at VIR in that car. I'm sure he would have made it with the wing, like he has several times before.

That's NEVER good to see.....BUT, I almost chuckled in that, as soon as he started moving out of his seat, you see the HANS label. It's almost like a commercial.

Thank God the guy looked somewhat coherent right after. I hope none of you have had to experience a crash like that!... I've done one in our little S at 90(ish)mph, I pretty much kissed my ass goodbye while i was sliding sideways.

Ride safe everyone!
