Eyebolt bolt & seatbelt mount?
For the drivers side left mount...Is an the standard size eyebolt long enough to go through the stock belts lower mount and still grab thread? I'd like to have both harness and stock belt installed in my car to alternate between street vs track.
Its either that, or get a bendable bolt in mount with a 7/16" bolt and use a clip-on for the harness.
thanks

What harnesses are you mounting? The eye bolts that came with my Willans 6 points were fine if you remove a couple of the washers (the shims, not the lock washer) from the stock assembly. Then I simply used the clip on the end of the belt and the eyebolt to secure the OEM mounting point. Seems very solid to me and the threads grabbed pretty deep.
I'm actually working on a how too for a harness install for the FAQ right now. The write up is done, but I just need to snap a few more pics (hopefully this week).

Oh believe me I've been through that entire thread 10x over
While there is definitely a lot of good info in there on what the proper setup is (a 6 point harness only to be used with a roll bar etc...) and discussion of the potential safety issues regarding use of a cage / bar / harnesses on the street without a helmet , there isn't as much of a step by step "How-To" for the DIY'er. Aside from CoralDoc's original pictures (a couple of those don't even apply to the most common setup found these days using a Hard Dog / GFL bar or some variation), there aren't a ton of pics in that thread.
I am just putting together a step by step guide of how I mounted my harnesses. It might be helpful to the guys and gals that are new to the R&C forum or tracking in general that still like to turn the wrench themselves on their own cars. If no one finds it of use, no big deal only took me a few minutes extra since I have been in the process of doing my own 6-pt install.
