Default Favorite racing book?

I want to buy a racing tips book to learn more about racing, car physics, etc. I only do an HPDE 3x a year, so I'm not that hard core.

If you could only buy one book for reference, which would it be? Speed Secrets I? II? III? Going Faster I?

Thanks

One of those two, yeah.

But I've been able to find those and many more at the local public library.

chuhsi: not really hardcore; I think anyone who's serious about modifying their car should at least have an understanding of the theoretical side of things before diving into it.

the book is only 120 bucks from SAE, but compared to the money one puts into their cars, that's just pocket change. Not to mention the knowledge you gain from the book carries over to every other vehicle you encounter, so personally, it's a no brainer.

Then again, i'm somewhat biased as I was heavily involved in FSAE when I was in school and now even when I'm done school that book still gets used more often than I care to admit

Since you HPDE only 3x per year, then Speed Secrets 1. If you plan to be a bit more committed, the Going Faster (and get Speed Secrets 2 if you already have 1).

I've never read or seen of those other books, but how do they compare to Ayrton Senna's Principles of Race Driving?
