How would this compare to the ford 8.8? And what's the pricing going to be like?

I know this will be geared more toward lapping days rather then drag racing right?

Where is the roll eyes insert when you need it.....

That's a legit question! hahahaha

ok. someone else correct me if i am wrong. but this is a diff COVER! only the COVER! it does not change anything else, no gears or diff carrier. IT simply is a nice looking piece of aluminum that allows you to cram in more fluid and keep it cool (not saying its a bad product, looks great!).
So to directly answer your question (as you have not seemed to find it on your own). It does not compare to the ford 8.8 at all, because the ford 8.8 is a replacement diff. It also will not be geared toward lapping, because it is a cover and does not have any gears.

Looks great Evasive! Question. How does it drain? I don't see a drain plug on the bottom.

You don't have to go to Japan to do that. Just saying Evasive could have saved quite a bit by staying stateside...

Don't get me wrong, it looks to be a great product, and Evasive is a great company I have done business with them many times.

Thanks for the input Yonson. We tried looking at places to make this product in the states, but it was really iffy. In the end we rather pay a little more to make sure our customers are getting a top notch product, especially since our reputation is involved.

Groupbuy has started, eta is the end of January.

No worries Dennis, just trying to help you guys out....

If you decided to do any other cast aluminum stuff let me know, we are ISO 9001:2008 certified, do cylinder heads, supercharger assemblies, and other intricate devices with very tight tolerances...

I know you already have these made, but do you think it would be a good idea go back to the drawing board and integrate a sort of bearing cap brace into the cover?

Like this.. The set screw tightens up against the bearing cap to keep it from flexing.

Those bearing caps normally fail due to launches on really high horsepower cars, which is why Comptech made their reinforcement kit. Most people who get up to that level won't use a stock S2000 differential anymore, they'll upgrade to the R200 differential. I can see why you'll want this brace, but it'll be really hard to design that brace on a S2000 differential without changing it's mounting points. If you know where the caps are located it is really close to the mounting points of the differential. Now if the S2000 differential cover is like the Ford one it would be possible to integrate that brace on our differential cover.
